Our Pre Qing Ming Single Bud GREEN TEA is a most delicious drink for the afternoon.
Pre Qing Ming or before Ching Ming means that the tea is picked in the premium early picking season and requires the tea to be produced from the first shoots prior to the Qing Ming festival on or around the 5th April.
According to the Chinese Farming Calendar there is a national holiday between the 4th and 6th of April and thereafter it starts to rain. And, after the rain the temperature starts to increase causing the tea plants to grow faster. If the the bud gets too big it loses flavour. The tender buds give a range of complex and delicate flavours and produce some of the most highly prized tea. Qing Ming tea is considered superior in every way.
Our Qing Ming tea was harvested on the 1st March 2020 in Jing Gu county and is extremely rare because of the short harvest period.
There is a long history of tea cultivation and consumption in Jing Gu county, which began centuries ago (Ming Dynasty) providing tea to farmers for their own consumption. Later on, the land under cultivation was expanded and Jing Gu tea was sold to traders in Shanghai and Canton.
With a clean, refreshing aroma, this is a tea to be sipped and enjoyed as a fine wine.
Our tea is sold in multiple packs of 50g.
