Imperial Phoenix MI LAN XIANG Oolong
China - Feng Huang Shan mountain, Chaozhou town, Guangdong province
Abbey Tea's Imperial MI LAN XIANG (Honey & Orchid) Oolong is the most well-known DAN CONG Oolong.
The leaf of a Shui Xian cultivar is larger and broader than that of an Anxi Oolong cultivar. The Shui Xian cultivar is the small arbor tea tree with leaves of long-oval shape. It is yellowish green in colour with a sharp tip and is very thick but soft, with a bud in light yellowish green colour.
The tea leaves are handpicked from old aged Shui Xian tea trees in the rocky environment of the WUDONG mountains at altitudes of 800 - 1000m in the Guangdong province in southern China. The tea trees grow alongside other wild plants in a natural environment, free from pesticides and fertilisers and the sub-tropical temperatures and fertile soil produce a tea of exceptional quality.
After withering, pan-frying and rolling the resulting tea has a slight honey fragrance and orchid aroma. The taste is fresh with a long lasting sweet aftertaste.
This Imperial MI LAN XIANG Oolong is a high grade version and highly sought after by many tea connoisseurs.
Our tea is sold in multiple packs of 50g.
