Our Imperial natural Taiwanese Milk Oolong also know as Nai Xiang Jin Xuan Wu Long, is from the Nantou region of Taiwan and has a delicious smooth, floral and creamy taste.
The tea is a balled (jade) Oolong, made using the leaf shoots of the Jin Xuan cultivar that was developed in the 1970's by the Taiwan Tea Experiment station. The plant is also known as # 12 or "Milk Oolong" and was released to farmers for planting in 1981.
Now grown on the mountain slopes at around 800m (2,600 feet), the temperature, altitude and soil conditions combine to give this Oolong tea its natural milky, smooth aroma and taste.
The sudden climate change during the harvest season causes the leaves to take on the milky, sweet taste.
The Nai XIang Jin Xuan Wu Long leaves are lightly roasted during processing and then rolled into tight (jade) nuggets.
The resulting tea is elegant and subtle, the milky flavour is completely natural and mingles with the usual floral notes of the best jade Oolongs to give a superb tea at a great price.
Our tea is sold in multiple packs of 50g.
