2017 YUAN QI (raw)
China - BuLang Shan mountain, Xishuangbanna county, Yunnan province
This is an incredibly fantastic, rare, high quality raw Pu erh tea brick from an ancient tea forest on the famous BuLang mountain. The whole leaves are hand-picked from old arbour trees at altitudes of between 1500 - 1700 metres.
Grown at such high altitudes means that the trees grow slower, thus developing complex delicious flavours. Harvesting in the spring after the tree has "rested" in the winter allows the trees to store a lot of nutrients in the leaves and buds giving the tea a rich, mellow taste. After picking, the leaves are dried naturally before being traditionally pressed into the characteristic "Chocolate Bar" shape of 12 pieces, in a mold. The resulting tea is an ultra smooth, raw Pu erh with a creamy aged taste.
The tea bricks are naturally dark in colour and are packed full of healthy antioxidants and catechins.
