2007 BAN ZHANG (ripe)
China - BAN ZHANG village, BuLang Shan mountain, Xishuangbanna county, Yunnan province
From BULANG SHAN mountain, this is a most mellow, unique traditional Yunnan Pu erh tea cake.
This famous Menghai tea region of BAN ZHANG is regarded as one of the best for growing Pu erh tea. The forest is next to the village of Ban Zhang, a remote village near the village of Lao Ban Zhang.
The ancient arbour trees (GU SHU) grow in a pesticide free wild ancient forest on the mountain, where the rich organic soil and climate are ideal for producing a tea of this exceptional quality.
Using only the best leaves from the old trees, the leaves are hand picked, air dried, pan fried, fermented, steamed and then pressed into a cake form. Great skill has been taken in crafting this top quality tea cake.
The resulting tea has a pure flavour and a soft, creamy taste with a mesmerising fragrance and may be laid down for these flavours to develope even further.
This is a most highly prized, sought after, difficult to purchase, very pure and rare Pu erh of limited availability.
