Abbey Tea has carefully selected this extremely rare high quality blended ripe Pu erh tea cake from old tea mountain trees, offered in it's own unique presentation box.

This exquisitely blended Pu erh tea is from ancient wild arbour trees of over 300 years old (GU SHU). The one bud and two leaves are hand-picked from six different mountain regions. Because the tea trees are so old, this tea is of limited availabilty and is only produced every two years.

The tea leaves are picked from six different mountain regions MENGSONG, NANUO, PASHA, HEIKA, BULANG and BADA in XiShangBanna county.

MENGSONG has a southern subtropical monsoonal climate with plentiful rainfall and sunshine and long frost free seasons. Combined with the rich fertile soil this region has excellent growing conditions for tea trees.

NANUO mountain has a mild climate, with lots of foggy days producing famous top quality tea.

PASHA ancient tea mountain is shrouded in fog all year round and has plentyful rainfall. This climate and fertile soil result in extremely productive tea tree growth. The long harvest periods produce large healthy leaves with stricking silver tips for a most excellent quality tea.

HEIKA mountain contains XiShangBanna's best preserved and largest ancient tea gardens in a southern subtropical monsoonal climate, which has superior natural conditions for growing tea trees and producing super high quality tea.

BULANG mountain has a warm climate with plenty of sunshine, rain, and good rich soil, which is ideal for tea growing.

BADA The wild tea trees in the Bada region are the largest known trees and it has been proclaimed "The King of Tea Trees". It contains the largest old tea forest, where the thick fog shrouding the mountains produce a harvest of top quality tea leaves.

The tea leaves are hand-picked from these six mountain regions, air dried, blended, weighed then steamed and hand pressed in stone moulds to provide exquisite tea of exceptional quality. The resulting tea has a robust, soft smooth, sweet, fresh taste with no astringency making it an ideal drink for any time of day. The tea liquid is a clear, reddish brown with a sweet aroma.
