Imperial White Peony
China - Fuding, Fujian province
Imperial White Peony is a really delicious Chinese white tea, and is a great introduction to white tea for the novice, with it's refreshing, sweet taste.
This Imperial White Peony is a slightly fermented white tea, and is the second grade of white tea after the Silver Needle. Called peony because after brewing, the shape of the bud and the leaves resemble a newly opened peony flower. Originally produced in 1922 in Jishui, Fujian province and more recently in Fuding and Zhenghe which have now become the main producing areas. It undergoes a slow drying process to produce a soothing, sophisticated, gentle tea for easy drinking.
White Peony is full of soft fruity flavours and has a floral aroma, not as delicate as Silver Needle, but with a fuller taste.
Our Tea is sold in multiple packs of 50g.
